FluxPaks simplify your ordering process by providing the correct ratio of Assay Kits to Microplates and Calibrant to perform XF assays.
We now have FluxPaks available in two sizes. The original FluxPak contains 18 assay cartidges and the new FluxPak mini contains 6 assay cartridges.
We sell FluxPaks corresponding to each of our Extracellular Flux Analyzers. There are two different analyzer models, XF and XFe. Each model has a 96-well and a 24-well format. Make sure to select the FluxPak that matches your instrument.

XF Assay Kits
For measuring OCR and ECAR
The XF Assay Kit consists of a disposable, 24 or 96 well, dual-analyte sensor cartridge, calibration plate, and lid. The sensor cartridge measures OCR (oxygen consumption rate) and ECAR (extracellular acidification rate).
The two fluorophores for analyte detection are embedded in a polymer spotted on the end of each of the sensor sleeves. The OCR is determined by the amount that oxygen quenches the fluorescence of a fluorescein complex. The ECAR sensor responds to changes in proton concentration [H+] as they diffuse across the fluorophore based polymetric substrate. The negative log of proton concentration is equal to the pH. The XF Analyzer's fiber optic wave guide is inserted into the sleeves of the sensor cartridge. Light is pumped through the fiber optic bundles, exciting the fluorophores and the resultant emission is detected and measured.
The sensor cartridge contains barcode information matching it to the corresponding tissue culture plate. The disposable assay kit may be used for hours or days. Sensor cartridges are not able to analyze non matching cell culture plates.
Each sensor cartridge also contains four compound storage and delivery ports per well. A unique multi-channel drug delivery system injects compounds into each cell well on command. This allows multiple measurements to be made using a single population of cells, and increases the effective throughput of the assay plate.
XF Assay Cartidges are supplied in individual containers and are packaged six per box.
XF Assay Cartidges may only be purchased as part of a FluxPak.
