  • Bioenergetic analysis of suspension cells: hematopoietic stem cells and lymphocytes

A real time assay that quantifies the ATP and biosynthetic demands of immune cell proliferation, differentiation and effector function.

Normal suspension cells, such as hematopoietic cells and lymphocytes are responsible for supplying oxygen to the body and protecting the host. Cellular metabolism is markedly dynamic in immune responses during proliferation and immune effector functions...

Immunology deals with the physiological functioning of the immune system in states of both health and disease, malfunctions of the immune system in immunological disorders such as autoimmune diseases, hypersensitivities, immune deficiency, transplant rejection, and the physical, chemical and physiological characteristics of the components of the immune system in vitro, in situ, and in vivo.

Metabolic reprogramming emerged to be critical in adaptive immune response. Understanding cellular metabolism and the role of mitochondrial dysfunction in relation to immune system and immune response can generate new insights into how to combat immunological disease.

The XF Analyzer generates data that can provide new understanding in relation to immunology and mitochondrial dysfunction, by allowing the measurement of cellular metabolism in real-time, in a microplate. By measuring the oxygen consumption rate (OCR) - a measure of mitochondrial respiration; as well as the extracellular acidification rate (ECAR)—a measure of glycolysis, you will be provided with the most physiologically relevant in vitro measurement for your bioenergetic studies.
